FAQS

What does the process look like to get a session scheduled?

Discuss with the photographer what type of session you are looking for, the location you want, and who will be involved.Agree on pricing and package you want.Schedule a date and time for the shoot. Then the fun begins with our portrait session!

What can I expect once the photo session is complete?

We will schedule an ordering/reveal appointment within 2 weeks of your session date. At this appointment, we will view your images on our studio's 50 inch TV and decide which images you like best. Once we have narrowed down your selections, we help walk you through which images will work best for you, your family, and your decorating style. We do this so that you feel supported and confident selecting the right images that will mean the most to you for years to come without feeling overwhelmed or stressed.

How long will my portrait session take?

I wish there was a definitive answer for this question but it really depends on the type of session and how quickly I can get the shots I need. I do attempt to get the session done efficiently so that you can get back to whatever you would rather be doing. ;) I want you to have so much fun, you aren't worried about the clock.

Do you have any tips for taking better portraits?

Individual Photos:

1. Relax, this should be fun!

2. Wear something flattering with some color and bring a few easy changes of clothing.

3. Accessorize.

4. Wear makeup to your liking for a date night.

5. Don’t look directly at the lens of the camera, look at the top of it or just to the side (avoids red eye especially if you have blue or green eyes).

6. Never face shoulders straight on with the camera (this looks awkward and not flattering to anyone).

7. Make small movements in all directions with the head and body - you never know which angle will look the best and catch the best light.

Group Tips:

1. Keep your eyes on the photographer unless instructed otherwise, try not to be distracted - the faster we can get everyone looking together, the quicker the photo session will be and it will result in better quality photos (turning heads can create blur).

2. Try to wear matching or coordinating colors for photos to be more cohesive.

3. Parents look at the photographer no matter what your child does unless asked by the photographer because inevitably by the time the child looks at the photographer, the parents are looking at the child.
